You're almost up and running with JotPsych by SmartScribe 🎉.
If you're an Android user, or want to record with your laptop in person or record an online, in-browser telehealth session, you can use our Google Chrome extension. To install the extension, visit the link below, or go to the Google Chrome Web Store and search for "JotPsych"
Log in with the same credentials you used to establish your account online, to ensure your account syncs completed patient notes properly.
Step 4/4: Recording with the JotPsych Google Chrome Extension
Accessing the JotPsych Chrome Extension
If you don't see the JotPsych insignia in the top right of your Google Chrome browser window (as shown in the picture below to the right), you can click the puzzle piece icon (Extensions), find JotPsych, and "pin" the extension to your toolbar using the pin icon (as shown below on the left).
To activate the recording session, click the JotPsych icon, log in, title your note, enable access to the browser microphone, and start recording. You'll see the recording animation and microphone level change as it picks up audio signal.
Pro Tip: If you're trying to record a telehealth session, you must initiate your recording by clicking the JotPsych icon while you're in the telehealth video tab. The extension will only record the computer microphone and the audio coming from the specific Google Chrome tab that it was enabled on when you click "start recording".
When you're ready to start recording, make sure you've enabled app microphone access and have received consent from your patient to record the interaction!
Select a relevant template, depending on the type of patient session. Feature note: custom templates are coming soon!
Title your patient note with something identifiable here so you know which recording this is when you're reviewing later on your computer.
Submit the recording, or delete it and try again.
If you have a short recording, you will get this confirmation message.
Try explaining a recent patient encounter. Stop recording when finished. Confirm to "End" the recording.

That's all! Are you ready to go to your JotPsych Dashboard and review your patient notes? You can always revisit this onboarding by using the "Support" button in the top right of your JotPsych web dashboard.
Here in the main navigation bar, you can go "home" to your dashboard (as shown here) or click "Notes" to view all of your Unreviewed and Archived Notes.
Here, you can manage your account or view our support resources.
Click the patient names below to review, edit, and copy and paste sections from auto-generated patient notes.
